Jody M. Purkey, owner of Progressive Photography Studio, is a Parkersburg native with more than twenty-five years of experience as a professional photographer. A graduate of local schools, Jody's photography training includes Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, WV; Ohio Institute of Photography in Dayton, Ohio; and Triangle Institute of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA. Jody is a member of the Professional Photographers of Ohio.

Jody has worked with various professional photographers in the Parkersburg area, as well as Jackson, MS; Memphis, TN; and Dayton, OH.

Jody's photography career began while in high school at Parkersburg Catholic. As part of the photojournalism department, he would photograph sporting events and extracurricular activities. He then began to photograph weddings and family portraits for a wide variety of customers.

Some current and past projects include photographing the Pentagon in Washington D.C. for Simonton Windows; Sugarcreek Fountains in Marietta, OH; the Blues Society; JD Beane; and Dr. Krause's office.

As a business owner for the past seven years, Jody has recently opened a new studio in downtown Parkersburg. Located at 519 Market Street, the building itself holds a lot of Parkersburg history. Formerly the McCrorys Variety Store, this location was also the home of the Parkersburg Ballet Company for many years. The large square footage allows the client to be photographed in settings that include a school room with lockers and a desk; an old rustic barn siding; a chain link gate and fence; as well as a wide variety of back drops.

Jody's goal is to provide a high quality product for a reasonable investment.
